The Meteor Orientation '97
The AMOTA holds the lecture named the Meteor Orientation to the public who are interested in meteor astronomy every year. In this year, besides our AMOTA's orientation held around Tokyo, the other area's same kind of lectures which were led by AMOTA, were held in some cities in Japan in same November. They were mainly promoted by the Nippon Meteor Society.
The Meteor Orientation '97 of our AMOTA were held in 2 sites around the Capital of Tokyo, one was operated in Atsugi-City in the Kanagawa-pref., and the other was in Kawaguchi-City in Saitama pref. The details in these 2 sites are as below.
- 1.The Meteor Orientation '97 in Kawaguchi
- Date : 9th November 1997, 13h00m-15h00m
- Location of the site : Kawaguchi-City Science Culture Center for Children, Kawaguchi-City, Saitama pref.
- More than 60 number of public were joined, by whom the orientation was well received. The 2 stages were given to the program. The first stage was the lecture of the expected activity concerning Leonids Meteor Shower in this some years using planetarium equipment, the other was the explanation and discussion for the method of observing Leonids.
- 2.The Meteor Orientation '97 in Atsugi
- Date : 9th November 1997, 16h00m-18h00m
- Location of the site : Atsugi-City Science Museum for Children, Atsugi-City, Kanagawa pref.
- The same program was prepared as the Kawaguchi, and was also well received. More than 70 number of public took part in the Orientation.
