The 69th AMOTA Meeting
As the first meeting after 1999's Leonids storm, the 69th AMOTA General Meeting was held at the Olympic Memorial Youth Center in Tokyo on 5th December 1999.
From young to old aged, more than 40 members and public were joined. The world-wide situation of Leonid activity and other subjects were given and shown as follows.

- 1. Leonids Activity in 1999.
- By Mr. Kanryu SERIZAWA
- Summary report based on the data of NMS and IMO was presented. There was the peak time at approximately 02h UT on 18th November, in which includes twin peaks.
Bad weather condition in 18th in Japan, but the rather great activity reached HR100 observed on 19th in Japan were also presented.
- 2. The Report of the Observation for Leonids in Turkey.

- In spite of bad condition in Turkey, video camera with image-intensifier caught the storm of Leonids. The video images of this storm was shown. The recorded excitement in the crowded observers were also introduced.
- 3. Photo Slide Projection; Leonids and Orionids in 1999.

- The results of the above showers on visual observation were reported with photo-slide. The rather faint meteors were observed more in 1999 Leonids compared with the last year.
- 4. The Perturbation Effects to the Giacoboinid Meteoroids by Jupiter Calculated with the Software of the Spread Sheet.

- The great shower of Giacobinids observed in 1985 and 1998 were explained by the results of the above calculation using by the above simplified method.
- 5. The Guidance for Geminids in 1999.

- The time table for Geminds in 1999 where predicted more meteors in 14/15 was presented.
- 6. The Bear will also roar ? : Guidance for Beta UMi Meteor Shower.

- The rather active showers of the above had been observed every after 6 years from the comet returning to the sun as like as in 1999.
- 7. The Guidance for Quadrantids in 2000.

- 8. TV-Video Projection in Perseids and Leonids.

- Two of members appeared news in TV were projected. One was at the Perseids in summer, in which colorful meteors were included. Another was the High-school student's activity at the Leonids.
