The 67th AMOTA Meeting

In spite of rather cold rain on 7th March 1999, 21 persons took part in the 67th AMOTA General Meeting which was held at the National Olympic Memorial Youth Center in Tokyo. Below presentations were shown and discussed, especially, the OKAMI-System attracted participants attention.

7. The Introduction of the Remotecontrolled Automatic Fireball Survey System with CCD Named OKAMI-System (OKamoto's Analysis for Meteor Investigation System).

This System installed in Yatsugatake Area 150km far from Tokyo was originally developed as the weather monitoring system on real time, and has been available to control from Tokyo. Escaping the after image effect by the moonlight, northern sky from horizon to zenith has been charged into the CCD camera every 8 second automatically. These data are transferred to the video-tape-recorder and frame memory of PC. It is able to catch the meteor brighter than 2 magnitude in this system. There are some merits, the most advantageous point is that we could search meteors in one night spending only in 3 minutes. The rather law cost is also the merit.
